Manchester Evening News (Guardian Media Group) partner with GDP

Global DataPoint are delighted to announce Manchester Evening News Media as their latest partner in the provision of comprehensive local Event and What’s On listings Information. With the imminent re-launch of the legendary City Life brand, MEN media needed a supplier who understood the need for detailed local coverage. Matthew Davies, City Life Product Manager said:

XFM revamp launches with Global DataPoint Music Listings

Gcap Media have just unveiled the re-vamped XFM website http://www.xfm.co.uk, incorporating a host of excellent new features enhancing the user experience of this cutting edge radio brand. One of the cornerstones of the re-vamp is the inclusion of searchable Music Event information. Global DataPoint are proud to have been chosen as the supplier for this integral element of the recent overhaul.

The Gigs and Tickets section is searchable by artist/band or browseable through the calendar. Headline acts at major UK music venues, record shop appearances and local gig nights for unsigned bands all feature, as well as a listing of all the major music festivals of the summer.

As well as XFM, Global DataPoint has also been selected as the supplier of comprehensive events and What’s On data for the Capital, Classic FM and One Network brands.

MyVillage.com, the leading national network of over 80 London area websites and over 21 UK City sites, recently decided to move from the Press Association to Global DataPoint for the provision of their comprehensive what’s on and events listings services throughout all of their sites. After a detailed evaluation of the degree of depth and breadth of events coverage for the UK, MyVillage made the choice to work with Global DataPoint for this integral element of their market leading service.

Trinity Mirror Regionals to receive Entertainment Listings from Global DataPoint

Newspapers such as the Liverpool Echo, Birmingham Post and Newcastle’s Evening Gazette will soon be able to publish the most comprehensive events listings for their regions. All 200 newspapers and more than 300 companion newspaper websites, ultra-local sites such as Liverpool.com from the Trinity Mirror Regionals division will be supplied Global DataPoint’s feed of events data.

Global DataPoint will supply content on cinema times, theatre productions, art and museum exhibitions as well as gig and club listings. Tourist attractions, festivals and special events for families will be included in the data feed. Trinity Mirror will move from their previous supplier of entertainment listings PA Entertainment to Global DataPoint after a detailed evaluation of the degree of depth and breadth of events coverage for all regions of the UK for this integral element of their market leading service.

VISIT LONDON chooses to partner with Global DataPoint

Visit London chose to work with Global DataPoint in December 2006. Visit London conducted a thorough evaluation of the data feed from Global DataPoint and from other providers also. They decided that due to the comprehensive nature of our events data coupled with the excellent communication from Global DataPoint throughout the evaluation process they would choose to receive a Global DataPoint feed over other competitors.

This month Visit London have renewed their contract with Global DataPoint. The Managing Editor John Whiddett says:

‘The Global DataPoint xml feed gave us a four fold increase in the events we had listed on Visitlondon.com. It also improved our users’ ability to plan ahead for their trip to London with its long lead time. The integration was smooth and the two-way communication between ourselves and Global DataPoint has allowed us to enhance and improve the way we use their comprehensive information.’
